The Francisco Flu Game – Mets take final game of Cubs Series

The New York Mets come back to take the final game of the series to beat the Cubs 7-6.

In what was a nervous sight for Mets fans in Lindor exiting yesterdays game, he came back today to lift the Mets confidence before heading to Tampa Bay.

The Mets were down four runs in the game due to another shaky outing from Adrian Houser. Houser pitched five innings giving up a three run home run in the 5th inning for the Cubs to take a 4-0 lead. He managed to only give up four hits, but the big fly and the four walks led to the downfall of Houser today.

Marte had a huge game today defensively gunning down two runners at home in the 10th and 11th inning to keep the game close for the Mets in the end. Marte cut the lead in half with an RBI single back in the 5th inning to start the Mets comeback.

The biggest story is Francisco Lindor who went two for three with four RBIs, but none as big as the last two RBIs to walk it off for the Mets in the 11th inning. Lindor noticeably not feeling well, in a difficult spot coming off the bench with what may be a game to turn his season around offensively. Lindor has had big moments this season, but consistency is what the Mets need him to do and he did just that today.
