4/9 7:20 PM Mets (Houser) vs Braves (Lopez)
After an emotional roller coaster last night the New York Mets find themselves in a spot where they can take control of this series.
Before last Friday the Mets started 0-5 getting swept by the Brewers in the opening series followed by two losses against the Detroit Tigers. Since then the Mets are 4-1 and the stars are starting to get going offensively.
Last night Brandon Nimmo entered the game only having 3 hits in his last 29 at bats. With 2 home runs and 4 hits his efforts carried the Mets to their 4th win of the season with another big divisional game in the early part of the season.
Adrian Houser gets the ball for tonight’s start as he looks to mow down a difficult Braves lineup. Houser looked impressive in his last start vs the Tigers striking out 3 over 5 innings only giving up 1 earned run. This will be a tough task for Houser as he has an 0-4 record vs the Braves over 6 appearances in his career. He looks to get over the hump to help the Mets win its third game in a row.
The Braves will trot out Reynaldo Lopez who pitched 6 innings against the White Sox in his first start of the year striking out 5 while giving up 1 earned run. Lopez has not faced the Mets much only have 6 career appearances, he carries a 1-2 record with a 3.77 ERA against New York. The Mets will look to get on him early as the bats may just be starting to heat up.
