The New York Mets have made a statement for the rest of the weekend as they beat the Dodgers 9-4.

The offense continues to stay hot as multiple Mets contributed to tonight’s win. Harrison Bader went 4 for 4 with an RBI and a stolen base which according to Mets beat writer Anthony DiComo matches his career high. DJ Stewart continues to show he belongs on the roster as he started the scoring tonight with a two run home run and gives the Mets some insurance in the 9th for his 3rd RBI of the night. But the biggest hit of the night goes to Francisco Lindor who homered in the 7th inning to break the tie. Lindor has been long overdue for a home run on the left side and he did just that to help the Mets to victory.

Sean Manaea bent but did not break tonight as he battled his way through 5 innings pitched. Manaea did not have stellar numbers against the Dodgers in the past, but today he was good enough to get it to the bullpen. He finished with 3 strikeouts and 2 earned runs. Edwin Diaz was not needed tonight as the Mets were able to secure a 5 run lead heading into the 9th inning. Brooks Raley and Adam Ottavino kept the dangerous Dodger lineup in check and Jake Diekman came in to pitch in the 9th to shut the door.
