The New York Mets have taken the third game of this series in a dominating fashion.
In a game where the Mets scored 16 runs over 16 hits it is safe to say that the offense is alive and well. Everyone seemed to get in on the action today offensively, but most importantly want to point out Jeff McNeil and Francisco Alvarez. McNeil has had it rough in the early part of the season but ever since his home run in Cincinnati not only are hits starting to fall for him his plate discipline is looking better each game.
Francisco Alvarez was red hot to start the season, but as of late has cooled down offensively. He finished today with 2 RBIs over 2 hits to get over a small slump.
While the season is still young this is a type of performance from the Mets that lift up this team. No one wants to start out 0-5 but since then it seems that this Mets team is slowly but surely finding its identity.
The Mets look to take on a tough Kansas City Royals team this weekend in Flushing as they sit 2.5 games back from first place in the NL East and 1 game out from the last wild card spot.
