The New York Mets beat the San Francisco Giants by a score of 8-2 to bring the final record of the west coast trip to 3-3.
The offense came alive today with big games from Francisco Lindor and Tyrone Taylor. Taylor had two hits with three RBIs and has proven to be a guy the Mets can trust on whenever his name is called. Francisco Lindor with a huge day hitting two home runs from the left side with four runs batted in. A much needed boost for Lindor who will need to play a big part this weekend against the Cardinals.
Sean Manaea found trouble early but was able to get out of jams and just finished shy of earning another win. Over 4 and 2/3rds innings Manaea only gave up 4 hits no earned runs and struck out 6. While the walks continue to be a big problem for Manaea he still managed to pitch a good game and get it to the bullpen with a lead. Reed Garrett got the win for the Mets who is now currently tied with Jose Berrios, Tyler Glasnow, and Ranger Suarez in wins leaders with a 4-0 record. Garrett’s ERA now sits at a 0.71 with 25 strikeouts over 12 and 2/3rds innings pitched, but the most impressive stat for Garrett is through 7 appearances this year his K/9 is 17.76. Arguably the most underrated signing this year for the Mets, as Garrett continues to impress.
